Summary

ChemCon The Americas 2012 took place in New Orleans, the United States from December 3rd - 7th. Over 170 experts from 24 countries representing more than 100 companies, authorities and associations have attended the conference and contributed to the exchange of experiences and discussion about regulatory affairs around the globe.

After the in-depth pre-conference seminars, on Global Approach to New Chemicals and REACH 2013 - 6 months before the next deadline, a variety of aspects of international chemical control legislation around the globe was discussed during the conferences sessions. Hands on topics related to North American, Brazilian and Mexican regulations as well as European REACH procedures, Japanese CSCL, the Korea-REACH implementation and the expected Taiwanese LSHA and TCSCA amendments were of high relevance to the audience. Up-to-date information on current and emerging chemical control legislation in the Asia-Pacific (e.g. India, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia and New-Zealand), The Americas (e.g. USA, Canada, Mexico and Brazil), and Europe (eg EU, Russia and Turkey) were highlighted and discussed.
