ChemCon Asia 2019 - Seoul

Partners of ChemCon Asia 2019:

Summary

ChemCon Asia took place in Seoul, South Korea from June 17th – 21st, 2019. More than 280 experts from 30 countries representing over 180 companies, authorities and associations attended the conference and contributed to an inspiring exchange of experiences and discussions about regulatory affairs around the globe.

The week had a great start where our delegates received the last-minute suggestions in relation to K-REACH pre-registration. After that compliance driven companies learned about the best practices on “Global approach to notification of new chemicals and polymers and global trends of chemical management’”. Followed by an in-depth seminar on “Secrets in the supply chain”.

During the rest of the week a great variety of aspects of international chemical control legislation around the globe was discussed during the conference sessions. Hands on topics related to Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Australian and other key developments in Asia-Pacific, as well as updates from Europe and The Americas were of high relevance to the audience. As always practical advice and lessons learned by industry were well received, since they show how to act within the legal frameworks set.

Many countries from Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas were spotlighted in detail and both authorities and industry shared their views on enforcement and consequences of non-compliance. Furthermore, there was a focus on other control legislation also relevant for the chemical industry like biocides, cosmetics, food contact, nanomaterials, ROHS, global consumer good regulations and waste. Moreover, we looked into relevant approaches for safe use of chemicals throughout the supply chain.
