ChemCon Europe 2014 - Istanbul

Partners of ChemCon Europe 2014:

Summary

ChemCon Europe 2014 took place in Istanbul, Turkey from March 31st – April 4th. 340 delegates from 27 countries representing more than 200 companies, authorities and associations have attended the conference and contributed to the exchange of experiences and discussion about regulatory affairs around the globe.

After the in-depth pre-conference seminars, on Korea and the secret seminar on Confidential Business Information (CBI), trade secrets and Intellectual Property, a variety of aspects of international chemical control legislation around the globe was discussed during the conferences sessions. Hands on topics related to Chinese, Japanese and Korean regulations as well as European REACH procedures and Turkey updates were of high relevance to the audience. Up-to-date information on current and emerging chemical control legislation in the Asia-Pacific (e.g. India, Malaysia and Vietnam), The Americas (e.g. USA, Canada, Mexico and Brazil), and Europe (eg EU, Russia and Turkey) were highlighted and discussed. As always practical advice and lessons learned by industry were well received, since they show how to act within the legal frameworks set.

Many countries from Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas were spotlighted in detail and furthermore there was a focus on topics like GHS, endocrine disruptors, nanomaterials, pesticides, biocides, cosmetics and food contact as well as potential approaches for a more sustainable future of the chemical industry. Also downstream user requirements and experiences were shared.
